Geodis BM is preparing to handle two major constraints in the event of a swine flu pandemic: the requisition of trucks by the government, and high employee absence levels. Its flu pandemic unit has drawn up the necessary contingency plans.

In developing an interface between its information system and Winroute, a route optimisation tool, Geodis BM is boosting its ability to calculate and prepare distribution operations.

Birth of Geodis BM Steel

Geodis BM has created a Steel division, grouping together Giraud’s five former specialist subsidiaries. Based in the Lorraine region of France and in Luxembourg, these subsidiaries – Giraud Lorraine, Giraud Luxembourg, Lexsis, Lexser France and Lexser Luxembourg – have a total workforce of 250. As a reminder, Geodis BM became owner of these companies on 8 July of this year.
